Application Information

Getting Started

  1. Launch RecallR
  2. If prompted, authenticate using your device's biometric or passcode
  3. You'll see the main screen with options to:
    • Create folders
    • Set up categories
    • Configure privacy settings

1. Folder Management

Creating a New Folder

  1. Tap the '+' button in the toolbar
  2. Enter a name for your folder
  3. Tap 'Create' to confirm

Example: Create a folder named "Work Projects" for professional tasks.

Organizing Folders

  1. Long-press and drag to reorder folders
  2. Use the Edit button to:
    • Delete folders
    • Rename folders
    • Move folders between categories

2. Virtual Categories

Creating Categories

  1. Tap the 'New Category' button
  2. Enter a category name
  3. The category will be created with default color and icon

Example: Create categories like "Personal", "Work", and "Projects" to organize your folders.

Managing Categories

  1. Long-press a category header to delete
  2. Tap the chevron icon to expand/collapse category contents
  3. Drag folders between categories to reorganize

Pro Tip: A folder can belong to multiple categories. For example, a "Client Project" folder could be in both "Work" and "Active Projects" categories.

Using Categories

  1. Categories appear above uncategorized folders
  2. Folders can belong to multiple categories
  3. Search using "category:" prefix to filter by category
  4. Categories respect Covert Mode settings

3. Privacy Features

Covert Mode

  1. Toggle Covert Mode:
    • Tap the eye icon in the toolbar
    • Icon turns red when active, blue when inactive
  2. When active:
    • All folders and content are hidden
    • Enter search terms to reveal specific items
  3. Enhanced Security:
    • Enable Dark Mode in Settings to hide the Covert Mode button
    • Perfect for sensitive information

Example: Use Covert Mode for personal finance folders or private notes.

4. Content Management

Adding Items

  1. Use the Share extension from other apps:
    • Select RecallR from the share sheet
    • Choose destination folder
    • Add optional notes
  2. Manual entry:
    • Open desired folder
    • Tap '+' button
    • Enter URL or text content

Example: Save an interesting article by sharing it directly from your browser to a "Reading List" folder.

Supported Content Types

  1. Text Notes:
    • Full text editing

  2. URLs:

6. Task Management

Creating Tasks

  1. Open target folder
  2. Add task as text note
  3. Set completion status as needed

Example: Create a "Daily Tasks" folder with recurring items to track.

Tracking Progress

  1. Monitor through color indicators:
    • Red: Creation date
    • Green: Completion date
    • Blue: Duration
  2. Folder Status Colors:
    • Blue: No completable items
